Small town 4th

Our 4th of July celebration always starts out the same. Papa and Jimmy park numerous and sundry vehicles in the Church parking lot days before the actual parade. Then they go down with chairs and threatening scowls on their faces at around five a.m. so no parade hogs can maneuver their folding chairs into our rightful parade viewing spot! Then the family starts trickling in around 9 a.m. with a breakfast buffet like something you might see in Las Vegas.

The famous threatening scowl

Protectors of our parade viewing rights!

Rex enjoys the buffet

My guess is Jett probably enjoyed a chocolate donut!

With all this food, why is everyone eating donuts?

Two little stinkers!

All the little kids have their pockets stuffed with candy (and some bigger ones!).

After the parade and before the barbecue at Grandma Homey's, we always take flag portraits with each of the kids.

Hurray for the red, white & blue!
