More Chocolate!

Charlie and the Chocolate Party - Part 2

Veruca Salt's Nut Drop

In honor of a very spoiled Veruca Salt we played "I have a little squirrel and he won't bite you." But sometimes that little scoundrel just couldn't help it and he'd reach over and give someone a nip!

The only redeeming fact about this vicious squirrel attack is that he had a
Nutter Butter Cookie in his hand that he dropped for his bite victim!

Mike Tee Vee Relay

In the movie Mr. Wonka experimented with transferring a chocolate bar through space and into a television. We accomplished this task in an easier and tastier fashion!

First the runner had to don Mr. Wonka's very fashionable glasses, then they
had to scoop up a pile of mini chocolate bars with a wooden spoon.

The candy had to stay on the spoon, any that fell off went back in the bowl.

The chocolate was then transferred to the TV...

...then they ran back and got some more!

After one minute the runner was able to empty out the TV and keep anything they had transferred.

Augustus Goop Shirt Stuffing

Augustus Goop was a rather stout, rather greedy little boy. For this game two teams tried to stuff as many balloons as they could in a team mates shirt to "Goop"-ify him!

Violet Beauregarde's Blueberry Squeeze

We all squeezed the blueberries "like a little pimple" and made some very tasty blueberry juice!

A runner from each team soaked a "blueberry" ( a foam ball from Walmart)
in a bucket of Blueberry Juice (water with blue food coloring) and raced to the Juice Jug.

They squeezed that little berry over a funnel...

...then raced back for more juice.

The first team to reach the Fill Line with juice was the winner.

Pie Diving

Because a person can never have too much candy, we next tried our hand (or should I say face?) at pie diving. Each diver put there hands behind their back and plowed head first into a plate of whipped cream looking for a Hershey's Kiss. The first one to eat the kiss was the winner.

WINNER!

Edible Crafts

We made edible necklaces by stringing Fruit Loops, Peach Rings and Life Savers on yarn.

We did a little finger painting with edible finger
paints made from vanilla pudding dyed with food coloring.

If you think finger painting is fun, try it with pudding. If you make a mistake, just lick  it off!

Then we ate a VERY healthy dinner, took a swig of Pepto Bismol
and settled down to watch "Bug's Life" in preparation for tomorrow.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Charlie and the Chocolate factory - Part 1
Wonka Bar wrapper

Print on Gold Paper

To us the lucky finders of the Golden Tickets (each of us having found one in our Wonka Bars last night!) the gates of Mr. Wonka's factory were flung open at precisely 9:00 AM.

Dolls danced, fireworks ignited and we were met by none
other than the fantastically weird Mr. Wonka himself!

Welcome to my factory. I shake you warmly by the hand.
Don't touch anything! and for heaven's sake
DON'T MUMBLE!

Two of our "dancing dolls".

The Chocolate Factory

Mr Wonka's factory was a child's dream come true. A chocolate river ran down a fudge mountain. The grass, mushrooms, leaves, rocks and flowers were all made of candy and we were invited to have a taste.

"Everything in this room is edible including me! But that, my dear children, is called cannibalism and is in fact frowned upon in most countries."    - Mr. Wonka

Chocolate pudding flowed from the mountain. The grass was edible Easter grass.
The rocks were made from chocolate and the mushrooms were meringue.

The leaves and flowers were fondant.

The chocolate mountain

Everyone turned into Augustus Goop, shoveling chocolate
into their mouths as fast as they could!

Next came Mr. Wonka's magical orchard where the trees not only produced fruit, they produced candy fruit!

Lickable Wallpaper for Nurseries

Mr. Wonka next directed us to our very own spot on a sheet of lickable wallpaper.

I melted Jolly Rancher candy and painted it on a sheet of new wallpaper.

Our next stop was The Sheep Shearing Room where a crazy pink sheep baaed and bleated behind a closed door. Mr. Wonka reached his hand in and out came mounds of pink cotton candy for each of us. (After all this time Pace is still a little afraid of the bathroom. He has vivid visions of a berserk and VERY loud sheep!)

Fizzy Lifting Drink

I think this was every one's favorite stop on the tour of The Chocolate Factory! Each child was given a personalized bottle of Fizzy Lifting Drink, a very tasty and highly bubbly Soda Pop. As the child drank he became extremely gassy, so gassy that he lifted right off the ground. The only way to come back down to Earth was to belch, and belch they did!

Not only did Merrill belch on command, he finished his entire bottle while suspended in mid-air!
Impressive!

The winner of the biggest burp was the littlest one to fly, Tuff!

Even some of the moms wanted in on the action!

Bubbles and more Bubbles

Everyone wrote down a guess for the number of gumballs in the jar and the winner is...

...Lauren! Good guessing sweetie!

The winner of first one to blow a bubble was Danii!

To be continued....
