Our buddies are "Out of sight!"!
There, they were greeted by the world famous inventor of "The Time Machine", The Professor. The poor old guy was a bit frazzled, having misplaced his calculations for the final formulation on the time machine.
After much searching and head scratching, the Professor invited them to proceed
to the "Time Machine" and to "just hope for the best"!
Trying to cover all liability angles the Professor asked our daring and naive
travelers to sign waivers of release, just in case!
Sign the waivers, kiss your loved ones goodbye and it's off to places and times unknown! When the Professor seated us and the door clanked shut the time machine was bathed in inky darkness.
Then the Professor cranked up the machine, motors turned, lights flashed and the machine SHOOK!
When we finally stopped and the door fell open, low and behold we were in ....
...The Groovy 60's!!!
Far out man, that was some trip!
We were met in the 60's by our groovy guide Crimson Haze, who was literally in some kind of haze!
She helped to "Hippify" us by teaching us the lingo...
...and by changing our square names to something more enlightened!
The travelers each drew two slips of paper and formed their new hippie name with them.
Words included hippie words, nature items, colors and patriotic words.
Pace - Summer Fire Shea - Ziggy Tide
Lauren - Yellow Hope Kamryn - Rainy Liberty
Tuff - Eternal Sand Jett - Jewel Stone
Danii - Serenity Life Merrill - Crimson Frost
Rex - Tranquil Karma Korbi - Rainbow Snow
Asher - Comfort Rain Katie - Moon Willow
Jordin - Peacful Melody Elizabeth - Summer Love
Mandy - Journey Joy Gramma - Luvlee Flower
Trevor - Deer Feather Ryan - River Rose
Then we crashed at Crimson's love shack...
...where we took a chill pill and traded in our square clothes for some groovy threads.
And quicker than you can say "FAR OUT"...
We were GROOVY gals and guys!
Welcome to Woodstock - 3 Days of Peace & Music
Lucky for us the thousands of concert goers rushed the gates and
we were able to save our ticket as a souvenir.
The anticipation was high as the announcer presented the first act of Woodstock...
...the one and only JIMI HENDRIX!!!
Jimi was followed by some equally well known acts.
The Tokens lead singer, Trevor, lets his sweet falsetto drift out
over the audience. Listen as he sings those thought provoking lyrics...
...wimeohwe, wimeohwe, wimeohwe, wimeohwe,
hush my darling don't fear my darling...
(Tuff, was just a little fearful!)
Thanks to some inspiration from Uncle Jimmy, The Beatles break out in some
awe inspiring dance moves as they sing that old standard...
We all live in a Yellow Submarine
Lets welcome Manfred Mann as he sings,
"There she was just a walkin' down the street...
...singin' Do Wah Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Do!
Put your hands together for that high stepping, Nancy Sinatra!!!
Are ya ready boots? Start walkin'!!!
And closing out our Woodstock Extravaganza the incomparable,
SONNY & CHER!!!
Babe,
I've got you babe
I've got you BABE!!!
Sonny, you better watch out. Your Babe is flirting with some other guy!
Don't worry, the 60's haven't ended yet. There is just too much of this groovy
kind of love for just one post. There will be more far out fun tomorrow.
Gramma Luvlee
