Open up your mouth and feed it! And using those immortal words of weird Al we pressed on through
our day at the Food Network. If it was edible we ate it, played with it, balanced it or painted with it!
What a difference a spice makes
Our resident chef taught us a little about seasonings and how they enhance food. To prove her point she let us taste what food tastes like with absolutely no seasonings. I bring you the dreaded ...
Baby Food Taste Off !
Each chef in training tried to figure out what the food was by taste and smell.
The older kids had to totally guess.
The little guys had to match the foods.
Baby Food Jar Labels
Big Kids Baby Food Taste Off
Little Kids Baby Food Taste off- They drew a line from the jar number to the food name.
The "Doodle" Head Challenge
In this game a volunteer from each team stood behind a line and their team mates threw cheese doodles at their head. Oh, they had on shower caps covered in whipped cream!
The teams had three minutes to toss as many cheese doodles on the shower cap as possible.
And when the game was over, as an added bonus...
...they cleaned up by eating the whipped cream and cheese doodles off of their team mates head! Yummy!!!
Use your noodle challenge
You need a bag of penne noodles and a bag of spaghetti. Each player puts a spaghetti noodle in their mouth and tries to pick up all of their penne noodles before the others.
This game was a lot harder then it looked and you really did have to
"use your noodle" and figure out the best way to snag your penne noodle.
Mini Chef Lunch
Our little chefs were turned loose in the kitchen to create their own lunch. They each created a mini pizza using dough, different sauces, meats, veggies and cheeses. While the pizzas cooked in the oven and on the grill, they put together salads on a stick, fruit salad on a stick and beverages.
The salad station had skewers, cubed meats, cheeses, veggies and ranch dip. The fruit salad had skewers, marshmallows, fruits and cream cheese and marshmallow fluff dip.
The beverage station was a big hit for the chefs. They had a lot of fun using flavored ice cubes, juices, syrups, soda, non dairy creamers and fruit to concoct one of a kind drinks.
Until later,
