Baby, it's cold outside

Day three finds us in frigid Antarctica

"Welcome to Antarctica we hope you like your stay"

We received an energetic greeting from a cute little singing and dancing Eskimo.
Everyone was absolutely frostbitten stepping off the ship into the frozen wasteland of Antarctica. Our little guide hustled us inside and helped to dress us all in more appropriate clothes.

Ice Fishing

The fish weren't biting...

...but we were able to save some arctic animals and...

...one grateful lady who had fallen through the ice!

Toboggan Races

Let the races begin!

This is serious competition...

...and not for the faint of heart!

"The faint of heart"

Singles race

The photographer got creamed right after this picture was taken!

The slowest heat of the singles race

If his hair is any indication, this was the fastest heat in the singles race!

Our toboggans were made from a sheet of cardboard. At the top it was sandwiched between two slats of wood and a nylon rope was insereted through holes drilled in the wood.
(Great instructions, right!)

Igloo Building

We were able to receive some hands on instruction in the fine art of igloo building.

Danii flunks igloo making 101.
Construction workers are not allowed to eat the building materials!

It's a blizzard buffet
Since we are dining in the frozen wasteland it seemed appropriate to have an all white lunch and an igloo cake.

Our blizzard buffet included white mac & cheese, egg salad sandwiches on white bread,
white cheese sandwiches on white bread, boiled eggs, cauliflower and ranch dip, igloo cake and white milk.

Snowball fight!
It's hard to find snow when it's 90 degrees out, so in a pinch marshmallows work great. We divided up in teams but soon it was a free-for-all.

The mom's brought out the Super-sized snowballs!

Merrill turned into a marshmallow bully.
So his aunties had his mom trick him into coming inside.

Then they attacked!

He deserved it but it took at least three hair washings to get them completely out.

We'll we better get back on board the Luvlee Lady. We're off to England and it's quite a jaunt!
